Title:   Stirrup Vase

Description:   Mended from many pieces; part of lip of spout; one-half of handle, chips from knob at its top, and small fragments of wall missing. Low raised base, slightly concave beneath, plump round body; vertical spout with flaring lip, on shoulder. On the top, an angular basket handle with central strut and round flat-topped center. Decoration in red glaze: zones of broad and narrow bands on body and shoulder to line of spout attachment; above, five groups of hand-drawn concentric quarter-circles. Around spout, glaze band around top and reserved bottom. Glaze on top of handle, around base of strut, on top of knob save for reserved side.
Flaky pink clay; smooth cream slip.
