Title:   Black Figure Amphora Fragment

Description:   Fragmentary; most of neck and lip preserved; one handle complete, and part of second handle. Restored in plaster. Thickened flaring lip set off from neck. Concave neck forming continuous curve with body. Broad flat flanged handles. Neck, inner and outer faces of lip and upper face of handle glazed black. Two red lines around the neck. Upper border of figured scene, a double palmette-band. On flanges of handle, ivy band.
Black glaze, firm, dull.
Context:   Well, containers 17-29.
