Title:   Kantharos: West Slope

Description:   Both handles, except stubs, and fragments of lip and body missing; one non-joining fragment. Restored in plaster. Shape as P 16233 (ΕΕ 409), but somewhat lower and the upper wall more sharply concave. West slope decoration in white and yellow on upper half of body: on either side, a wreath between ears of grain; dot rosettes as filling ornaments; pairs of streamers beside handles.
Dull black glaze, somewhat worn and flaked.
ADDENDA P 16233: A tall kantharos with plain lip. Upper half of body slightly concave, set off from lower, ovoid, body by a broad shallow groove. Profiled foot. Vertical band handles with plastic ivy leaf on top.
Context:   Cistern, lower fill.
