Title:   Black Figure Pyxis Lid Fragment

Description:   Part of a circular lid, nearly flat, with plain downturned rim. Purple paint on outer face of rim; inside unglazed. On the top, an open lotus flower, with intertwining tendrils from its stem. Incision for the petals of the flower and where the tendrils cross each other; added purple on outer and center leaves of lotus and on knot at its base.
Attic clay. Reddish-brown glaze.
