Description: | Preserved and restored to the shoulder, with horizontal rolled handles. Flaring ring foot and rounded body. Unglazed except for outer face of foot and triple band below handle-join; vertical glaze stripes, with pendent tails, on handles. Handle zone reserved and separated from shoulder by wide band bordered by narrow. On shoulder, compass-drawn concentric half-circles with hourglasses at the center, alternating with cross-hatched vertical lozenge-chains. Cf. Desborough (1952), p. 43 (wrongly noted as P 17448). | |
