Title:   Rhyton Fragments

Description:   Mended from several fragments, one piece not joining. Fragment of curved neck of heavy pot, rhyton(?). Domed partition across one end, pierced with large hole next to inner side of neck. Other end decorated with large moulded palmettes. Single fragment decorated with palmette and heavy horizontal, twisted cord motif.
Very poor black glaze over all; traces of white paint.
ADDENDA Rhyton terminating in sea monster (triton?). Part of hole for spout present. b) probably joins a) giving part of body of triton(?). Very similar: Bull. Soc. Royale d'Arch. d'Alexandrie n.s. vol. X, 2 (1938-1939), no. 33, p. 353, fig. 2.
