Title:   Black Glaze Jug with Stopper

Description:   Mended from many pieces; some missing fragments from body and bottom restored in plaster. No foot; flat bottom; globular body; short neck; broad ring at junction of neck and shoulder; round mouth; heavy rounded rim; broad flat band handle from rim, with shouldering and a raised ridge on the top of the handle.
Glazed all over except for a reserved band about half way down the body; the glaze thin and worn, unevenly fired, mostly to red and brown.
The cork stopper (W 32) was found in place in the mouth.
ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ:   Πρόχους με κάλυμμα φελλού. Λείπουν θραύσματα από τον πυθμένα και το σώμα του αγγείου. Αποκατεστημένη με γύψο.
Context:   Well east of Stoa room 2 (= ΘΡΑ well), containers 11-15. Context ca. 520-480 B.C.
