Title:   Three-Handled Jar

Description:   Complete except one handle and chips; mended from many pieces. Tall slender body tapering to flaring foot, concave beneath; broad mouth with flat slightly sloping rim; a light ridge at the junction of neck and shoulder. Mouth and neck glazed inside and out; reserved band on top of lip; the handles glazed. Decorated zone covering shoulder and upper body: ivy pattern. Between handles, pointed leaf with triple stem; at each handle a double-stemmed round leaf, the leaf framing the lower handle attachment. Below, wave pattern. Lower body banded: three narrow bands, one broad, and four narrow; then glazed solid to the base.
Pinkish-buff clay, buff slip; red glaze.
Context:   Mycenaean chamber tomb at north side of Temple of Ares. Pot #12.
