Description:   Broken all around. From lower wall of lekythos. Above ground line, a discus with an owl in silhouette; around the owl black dots. At left, part of uncertain object.
A lekythos in the National Museum (N.M. 17281) assigned to the Bowdoin painter (S.K.) has just such a discus, set up on the ground, in front of an athlete with jumping weights. There, at least some of the black dots are legible letters. For the owl on a discus, cf. N. Yalouris, "Athena als Herrin der Pferde), MH (Museum Helveticum) VII (1950), p. 53, note 307a.
Notes:   Possibly same fill as well 45/Θ but association not certain.
