Agora Object: P 21595
Inventory Number:   P 21595
Section Number:   Σ 2567
Title:   Jug
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Mended from many pieces. Partially restored in plaster; a few pieces do not join. Profile to shoulder given; also part of rim with root of handle in a non-joining fragment. Slightly projecting rim, sloping inwards; ridge around base of neck, very low ring foot; plump ovoid body. Opaque triangles on rim; bands on neck and lower half of body. In shoulder zone, schematized flowers; two vertical bosses probably near the handle.
Buff clay. Dark glaze much worn.
ADDENDA W. Taylor notes (Nov. 1951) shoulder fragment perhaps set wrong; join does not appear convincing and the two bosses would ordinarily be set on the front of the jug, opposite the handle. This would be impossible in the present arrangement.
