Title:   Skyphos

Description:   About half preserved, including the base, one handle, and part of the rim. Restored in plaster. Spreading foot, roughly scored along the outside (as if from careless potting); resting surface and inner face are continous but irregular, varying from convex to sloping; underside of floor recessed and convex. Flat rim, projecting outwards. Horizontal strap handle, sharply uptilted. Along the fractures the fabric is usually a greenish-gray. The glaze fired variously dull gray, dark brown, and red, and some peeled. A reserved band around the exterior at the level of the handles. The bottom edge of the foot is reserved and there is a reseved band around the outer edge of the underside of the floor. Otherwise glazed over all with the possible exception of the flat rim.
