Title:   Amphora Fragment: West Slope

Description:   Many pieces joined to make two non-joining fragments from neck and shoulder. Partly restored in plaster.
a) Full profile of neck, part of one handle and of shoulder.
b) Rim and neck fragment from other sides. Out-turned rim, twisted handle.
Alternating panels decorated with diminishing rectangles and checkerboard on shoulder. Garland with scrolls, leaves and berries on neck. Scraped grooves filled with miltos: one below rim, one at the joint of neck, a third below the panels on shoulder. A band in diluted clay round handle attachment. No incision. Inside glazed.
Attic clay. Dull black glaze with brownish patches.
