Title:   Black Figure Lekythos

Description:   Mouth and part of neck missing. General type as P 24316 (ΣΑ 2526): This is the characteristic general type for the large proportion of the lekythoi from this group. Bell mouth with variations in height and spread; lip usually reserved, occasionally glazed. Disk foot of varying thickness; below picture either one or two reserved lines. Added colors more or less well preserved. Only substantial variations are noted in the following descriptions.
Shoulder: strokes above lotus bud (skipping one).
Scene: in the middle Apollo with cithara right; at right, woman facing him (Ariadne?) and Dionysos holding horn, standing right looking back at them. At the left a woman (Maenad) followed by a gesturing Satyr, both right.
Same hand as P 24476 (ΣΑ 2686).
Context:   Well beneath Stoa gutter.
