Description: | Most of wall and foot missing. General type as P 24316 (ΣΑ 2526): This is the characteristic general type for the large proportion of the lekythoi from this group. Bell mouth with variations in height and spread; lip usually reserved, occasionally glazed. Disk foot of varying thickness; below picture either one or two reserved lines. Added colors more or less well preserved. Only substantial variations are noted in the following descriptions. Shoulder: strokes above rays. Scene: Herakles right (feet and right hand preserved) grappling the lion (head and legs preserved); on left, Iolaos right holding the club; on the right, youth walking away (tip of head, right arm, legs preserved). | |
