Description: | Most of body and of foot preserved. General type, as far as preserved, as P 24316 (ΣΑ 2526): This is the characteristic general type for the large proportion of the lekythoi from this group. Bell mouth with variations in height and spread; lip usually reserved, occasionally glazed. Disk foot of varying thickness; below picture either one or two reserved lines. Added colors more or less well preserved. Only substantial variations are noted in the following descriptions. Scene: Herakles right (torso missing) grappling the lion (part of forebody missing); on the left, Iolaos right holding the club (most of head and right shoulder missing), on the right, youth in himation walking right (chest and head, half of left foot missing). | |
