Description: | Mouth, shoulder, upper wall piece and foot fragment missing. General type as P 24316 (ΣΑ 2526): This is the characteristic general type for the large proportion of the lekythoi from this group. Bell mouth with variations in height and spread; lip usually reserved, occasionally glazed. Disk foot of varying thickness; below picture either one or two reserved lines. Added colors more or less well preserved. Only substantial variations are noted in the following descriptions. Shoulder: dots above rays. Scene: Apollo moves rapidly right and grasps the tripod, which Herakles holds in his right hand, club in his left. Behind Herakles, draped figure holding a spear or stick; behind Apollo, another draped figure right (lower half preserved). | |
