Title:   Pyxis

Description:   Very fragmentary. Restored in plaster. Tall pyxis with flat projecting rim and small ring foot.
Band of groups of sloping lines around wall. Reserved lines toward edge of rim and on side of knob. Four petalled rosette on top of knob. A pair of small holes in rim of pyxis and another in lid.
Pinkish-buff clay. Glaze greatly gone. Traces of burning.
Fragments of a similar pyxis were left in the sherd container.
Context:   Remains of pyre beside Protogeometric burial amphora (P 24791), under south side of east-west road.
