Title:   Black Glaze Pyxis Lid Fragments

Description:   Two non-joining pieces, one made of three fragments preserve about one-fourth of lid; center and handle lost. Rising steeply toward the center. One pair of tie-holes preserved. Between them, on the underside, a reference mark; a gash vertical to the rim. Broad band of glaze, then a zone of chevrons, then glaze.
Hard pinkish buff, somewhat damaged by burning. Black glaze.
