Title:   Black Glaze Canteen Fragments

Description:   a) Section of side wall mended from six fragments. Shallow concave. Edge of sides are curved to form narrow faces of body, and reinforced with extra thickness of clay. Inside unglazed.
b) Neck and rim fragment. Short, narrow neck. Rolled lip, two loop handles. Ridge at base of lip in line of upper handle attachment. Handle reinforced.
Dull black glaze, partly fired to red, worn and scratched in places.
Context:   Well and cistern.
