Title:   Black Glaze Canteen Fragments

Description:   a) Seventeen fragments, strengthened with plaster. Section of side walls, one shallow convex, the other shallow concave.
b) Mended from three fragments. From convex side wall.
c) Short, narrow neck. Rolled lip with ridge in line with upper handle attachment. Handles broken away at lip.
Dull black glaze, unevenly fired to red in parts, much peeled. Pinkish clay.
Context:   Well and cistern.
