Title:   Red Figure Bell Krater Fragment
Category:   Pottery
Description:   None of the edge of the rim preserved; the bottom of the fragment broken off at the point of attachment to the body. At the lower edge of the piece, a deep groove, colored with miltos. Above this, a moulding, with egg-and-dot painted in black (relief lines for the edges of the eggs). On the underside of the rim, an ivy pattern, very freely rendered, the curving stems and the berries in heavy clay-colored paint, the leaves reserved. There seem to be faint traces of red color over the added clay of the stems and berries.
Good thick black glaze inside and out.
Context:   Mixed fill, mostly Hellenistic.
