Title:   Dish Fragment: Imitation of Phocean Red Slip Ware

Description:   Single rim sherd.
The shape imitates Phocean Red Slip ware, form 3 (B-C); not decorated.
Yellow orange fabric (Munsell 7.5 YR 7/8, core to 5 YR 7/8), with numerous small brown inclusions; thin red to brownish slip (1.25 YR 5/8 to 2.5YR 6/6), preserved on exterior only. Minor spalling because of lime inclusions, inner surface eroded.
Probably Corinthian. From a disturbed area?
Early to mid. 5th c. A.D.

Conservation Status:   Finished
Context:   Dumped fill in front of Stoa of Attalos, on cement strosis. Found with coins #1-47 (17 April 1936) and coins #90-101 (28 April 1936).
