Description: | Five joining fragments, preserving portion of rim, neck, shoulder and body. Body and shoulder rounded; neck forming S-profile with body; neck flaring to plain rim with rounded lip. Paint mostly thickly applied and well adhering; mostly fired red, reddish brown where thickest on wavy line. Broad wavy line in belly-zone. Shoulder, neck and rim (including top of rim) painted solid. Broad band on rim interior. This is a rare example of an amphoriskos from a non-funerary context. Fabric fine, close to pink 7.5 YR 7/4. | |
