Title:   Chalice Fragments with Paint Decoration: Naukratite

Description:   Fragment from the wall of an open vase. Coarse buff clay covered outside with white paint on which decoration is in brown; on the inside, covered with brown glaze on which the decoration was done in white and purple. On the outside there remains a little of a geometric motif; on the inside, of a rosette within two circles.
b) ΟΕ 229 probably from the same vase. On the outside, a maeander with a line of dots above, this in black glaze above a white surfacing; on the inside, a lotus bud in white paint above black glaze over a white surfacing.
