Title:   Black Figure Bowl Fragment

Description:   Mended from three fragments. From a large open bowl with slightly projecting horizontal lip. Glazed black inside. On the outside, below the lip, a narrow black band, from which hangs a triangle separating the animals in the frieze below it: at the left, a horse, galloping right; at the right, a sphinx, right. The horse's eye and mane, the sphinx's wing and hair, incised.
Coarse buff clay; buff slip; dull black glaze.
Context:   Mixed red drain fill.
