Title:   Miniature Piriform Jar
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Complete but for two missing handles (out of three) and chipped along base. Surface spalling on lower belly.
Glaze slightly chipped on rim. Paint cracking at bases of handles and at rim where paint is thicker.
Low neck with projecting downturned rim, piriform body, slightly splaying ring foot. Horizontal loop handle(s) at shoulder.
Thick brown paint: on rim and on interior of neck. Diluted orange to brown paint on exterior of neck and lower body. On shoulder, well preserved net pattern above three diluted lines fired orange to dark brown; on lower body, three sets of horizontal framing bands, varying in width. Underside of base, reserved.
Fine, pinkish-yellow fabric.

Conservation Status:   Finished
Context:   Level 5 of central fill of Mycenaean Chamber Tomb J 1:10; handle found at level 4 of southeast undercut of the same tomb (Basket 35, lot BZ 2273).
