Title:   White Ground Lekythos Fragment

Description:   Mouth and handle missing; lower body and foot; large parts of shoulder and walls. Blackish-brown glaze, for lines at edge of shoulder, top of body and bottom of white zone. Pink matte color for scrolls on white shoulder, for maeander, for outlines and details of scene. Of the scene the following details are clear: at left, a woman or a youth reaching a hand toward a stele. Only the face and arm are preserved. In front of him the steps of the stele, with a fillet falling across them. Above the steps and at right are details which perhaps were a second figure seated on the steps or leaning across them.
Black glaze on neck, fair.
