Title:   Black Glaze Bolsal Fragment: Stamped

Description:   Lower part of large bowl; mended from several fragments, none of the rim or upper part preserved. Heavy fabric. Low ring foot; body offset above foot; traces of handle attachment.
Decorated inside with stamped palmettes in a hatched band; on the outside, traces of heavy buff paint, applied over the glaze, preserved just below broken edge.
Clay pink. Glaze heavy, not very lustrous. All over, except where scratched away in groove on undersurface of foot, and in another groove where body of bowl is joined to base.

Context:   Near surface by drain. Some good Greek but much Roman disturbance.
