Title:   Oinochoe
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Lip, most of neck, handle, foot and large portions of body missing; restored in plaster. On neck, horizontal stripes; above base, spiral hooks. Broad figured zone with triple ground-line: two lions walking towards each other, a front paw raised. Filling ornament: groups of zigzags; diamond; vegetal ornament. Heads, teeth and tongue, paws, drawn in outline; muzzles stippled.
Pinkish buff clay, dull black to brown glaze, much peeled.
Restoration includes P 5284 (Β 1431).
Additional fragments found later in section Ζ (Ζ 1661):
a) Hind foot of left hand lion; diamond filler behind it; three lines and the tip of a spiral ray below.
b) Parts of three spiral rays and of three lines above; from back.
c) Parts of two spiral rays and of three lines above; from front.
Context:   Early earth fill under road. 36-40/road test cut. Additional fragments from N.E. corner of cemetery, layer II.
