Description: | Of these fragments only a) and b) come certainly from the same pot, though c) and d) may belong. a) From the lower right corner of the panel. The door of a house, with the leg of a figure standing on the doorstep. b) Part of the lower border, with a male figure, nude save for folded cloak, right, carrying a short staff. c) Fragment of torso and left arm of a nude figure facing. d) Fingers, and the end of a staff(?). e) Fragment from near shoulder. At left, the top of the head of a figure wearing a spiked crown; at right, a goal post (torch racer?). f) Back of the head, and upper left side of a nude figure, left; drapery over bent arm. g) From near shoulder. Fragment of torso and upper right arm of nude figure. h) Bit from lower border; on the ground line a rectangular stool or box. i) Fragment from side of panel. Outstretched leg of a dancing figure. Drapery above(?). Relief contours on a)-d), h). Thin fabric. Brown wash inside except at shoulder. Fragments f) and i) become part of P 14387 (Ξ 659). | |
