Title:   Kantharos: West Slope

Description:   Similar to P 6302 but smaller. One continuous curve from top to bottom but upper wall very nearly straight. Leaf thumb-rests. Handle zones front and back defined by incised lines above and below; between, diminishing rectangles on each side of checkerboard pattern in thin clay paint; centers of diminishing rectangles and alternate checkers, white.
Restored in plaster.
Red glaze, metallic above the stacking line on the outside.
ADDENDA P 6302: Ring foot. The body squat; rounded below, above straight and sloping in slightly toward the top.
Context:   Cistern. Lower, Hellenistic fill.
