Title:   Red Figure Cup Fragment: Type B

Description:   Fragment from center of cup. Most of the foot is broken away, but the stem remains, together with the center of the medallion, including a bit of the plain reserved circular stripe surrounding it.
Nude archer kneeling on right knee, facing left; head, feet, most of shoulders and lower arms, and back of quiver broken away; he holds his double-curved bow before him, with the bow string to left; bow being strung? Relief outlines; muscles indicated in dilute glaze; accessory purple used for bow, for band on quiver, and for quiver strap passing across front of body.
Attic clay. Fine black glaze.
Context:   In loose earth overlying bedrock.
