Title:   Red Figure Column Krater Fragment

Description:   From the shoulder of a large pot, probably a column krater. Inside, above unglazed; below, glazed, rather dull. Tongue pattern at top. Maenad, wearing chiton, himation and sakkos, left; an ivy spray and a thyrsos held in her left hand (hand not preserved); right arm outstretched. Behind her, a curved object, possibly the arm(?) of another figure. Relief contours for chin, nape of neck outstretched arm, and staff of thyrsos. Purple-red for the ivy spray; brown for inner drawing on arm.
