Title:   Red Figure Cup Skyphos Fragments

Description:   Four fragments:
a) From the rim and wall, the rim convex outside, slightly flaring.
b) From the lip and wall with one handle.
c) and d) Wall fragments: c) preserved almost to the edge of the lip. A deep bowled cup; none of the interior medallion preserved.
Outside: all the fragments appear to come from the same side of the cup. In the center, Herakles, right, attacking the Hydra. Behind him, Athena right, her left arm, over which falls her aegis, outstretched. A bit of her drapery on the handle fragment. At the right, Iolaos(?) left.
Brown for inner drawing of bodies. Red for Iolaos' wreath, Herakles' quiver strap, and for the inscriptions:

Behind the head of Iolaos: ] Α [
Fine relief contours. Inside of handle, handle space, and a line around the outer edge of the lip reserved.
