Title:   Black Glaze Plate Fragments: Stamped

Description:   Two non-joining fragments from a plate. High moulded ring foot, the space within lightly moulded and decorated with a reserved groove. Another groove at junction of foot and floor outside. In-sloping rim with two grooves. The floor lightly offset where it rises towards the rim. Incised decoration: at the center traces of a star; then a ring of links tipped with small three-dot "palmettes". Beyond, band of tongues.
Thin fabric; excellent glaze.
ADDENDA P 8439a does not belong to P 8439b, the former being from a stemless cup, the latter from a plate.
