Title:   Amphora Fragments: Banded

Description:   Preserved is the ring foot and much of the lower body; also a few non-joining pieces of upper body and shoulder, and two fragments of the rim. From an egg-shaped amphora on ring foot, with straight neck and thickened lip. For shape and decoration cf. P 4613 (Section Β, grave 4).
Attic clay, pinkish, with bits. Creamy slip outside. Reddish-brown glaze band on lip and foot; narrower bands at intervals on body.
Context:   Well.
