Description: | Found by Mr. Kaurounoilis in 1912 Missing: the mouth of the vase and the lower part of its base; the head and left forearm or foot of one youth, the right forearm and leg of other. Two youths wrestling. The one has forced his opponent to his knee and how holds the latter's body locked between his left arm and thigh while with his right hand her grasps for opponent's hair. The base was round and of the typical concave profile. The figures are skillfully modeled about the face is quite cold and expressionless. One kneels on his right knee and grasps the right arm of his opponent who stands behind him, resting his right hand o his head. The kneeling youth appears about to pull the other over his head in a "flying heave". Clay: Firm, buff, covered behind with black glaze, in front with white paint. Overlying the white in yellow for the youth's hair, blue for the background between the two legs. | |
