Title:   Grave Lekythos Fragment
Category:   Sculpture
Description:   Probably crowning member, i.e. mouth and flaring lip of a grave lekythos. Broken edges at bottom, but hole for attachment indicates that this piece was made separately and is almost complete as preserved; edges of top broken away; handle, which did not rise to top, broken away behind. Smooth top surface with shallow depression in center.
Low relief decoration: palmettes and scrolls.
Pentelic marble.
Context:   Probably from Agora excavations; brought into house some time between 1941 and 1946.
