Title:   Statue of Odyssey

Description:   Lacks head, both arms and both legs.
Female figure wearing cuirass, cloak and girdle.
On front of cuirass in relief, Scylla; on lappets of upper row from left to right, Aiolos, three sirens, Polyphemos; on lappets of lower row are preserved helmet, a ram's head and a winged thunderbolt; two are missing. To left on one of the long pendents below the lappets is the artist's signature:

Condition as of S 2038, but on S 2039 there is more brown oxidation and black water deposit.
Pentelic marble.

Notes:   Found in 1869, transferred to Agora Museum 1958, catalogued 1959.
Context:   Found in 1869 in excavations of the Greek Archaeological Society in the Panagia Pyrgiotissa at south end of Stoa of Attalos. Subsequently in National Museum until transferred to the Agora Museum in August 1958.
