Title:   Mask of Bearded God

Description:   Complete except for large chip from lower part of beard, and tip of nose.
Front half of the head of a bearded God. The hair is parted in the middle and pulled in long strands to high over the ears, covering the upper part of the side hair, which fall down straight below. Head hair done in deep incised waves, beard done in more lightly incised wavy strands. Top of head smooth. Back smoothed to a flat plain and left somewhat rough with an iron dowel in the middle for attachment to a wall. Back of beard smooth. The angle of face to back is such that it is clear the head was meant to hang high up.
Large crystalline Island marble, sugary where broken away.
Context:   Well.
