Title:   Portrait Head of Male Figure

Description:   Broken off at the neck; the nose broken and the ears badly chipped; the surface damaged.
Close cropped curly hair and beard, the latter rising to a point under the lower lip. Traces of a mustache, the mouth straight and rather crude. The iris and pupil of the eyes indicated by incision, very heavy ridges over the eyes and very low forehead. The eyes upturned.
Rough file marks remain on the cheeks and neck.
Pentelic marble.

Context:   In loose brown fill just to the west of the strosis at 91-92/ΙΑ-ΙΔ, lying face up. Mixed late Roman and Hellenistic fill; no related walls.
