Agora Object: S 486
Inventory Number:   S 486
Section Number:   Λ 369
Title:   Relief Fragment with Sistrum
Category:   Sculpture
Description:   Of the relief only the upper part of the sistrum is preserved, considerably battered. The top of the block, fairly smooth-picked, is preserved with a dowel cutting, partly broken off, at the right. Just above the sistrum, in the face of the block, a small rectangular cutting has still apparently a bit of led in it. The dressing of the background with a flat chisel and the working of the relief are very rough. It is not unlikely that the top dressing and the dowel cutting represent an earlier use.
