Title:   Grave Stele Fragment: Inscribed

Description:   Broken at the top, right and bottom. Rough-picked at back. Face badly weathered.
Stele capped by acanthus leaves above plain quarter round molding. Below the almost indecipherable inscription Ν Ι Κ 0 . . . . . . Α Ι . . is seated a woman, probably the deceased, facing right. Her head is slightly bowed, her left hand is raised to her shoulder arranging her himation, and her right rests in her lap, holding something. To the right were probably one or more standing figures to which she was bidding farewell.
The inscription is too faint to measure.
Pentelic marble.
Context:   Found outside excavation, brought in by workman.
