Title:   Statuette Fragments: Draped Female

Description:   Two fragments which join at one point. Head and lower arms missing; much worn and chipped. Dowel holes for attachment of head and left toes.
A female figure, her weight resting on her right leg, the left advanced; cloak covers her shoulders, upper arms, back and legs; a thin chiton has slipped down off her right shoulder, leaving the right breast bare. Her hair falls in two straight locks over her shoulders in front, and in a stiff mass behind.
Soft white poros.
New gluing 2.12 1998.
ADDENDA Statuette looks very Hellenistic, but is not.

Context:   Well in Theseion Plataea (4th century B.C.).
