Agora Object: SS 383
Inventory Number:   SS 383
Section Number:   Ζ 49
Title:   Stamped Amphora Handle: Knidian
Category:   SS Misc.
Description:   Shape look Knidian.
Clay look Knidian; russet with gray core; porous and full of bits, and slightly micaceous particularly on the surface which may be a slip.
The impression is circular but the letters are in two lines divided by a trident right. On Dumont (1871), p. 214, no. 100 is probably the same seal; the shape is not noted but the arrangement is the same and the character of the letters as indicated is close to ours.
The fabricant Euboulos occurs on many seals, often with the trident on specifically Knidian seals.
Cf. Dumont (1872), pp. 247, 249, 256, no. 6I.
