Title:   Stamped Amphora Handle: Knidian
Category:   SS Misc.
Description:   Neck of Knidian amphora with tops of handles preserved. The neck is contracted just below the riolled rim. A little further down, a sort of rough handle ridge at different levels on the two sides. The handles, broken at the curve, show a level rather short upper part pinched laterally at the attachment.
Coarse red clay with grey core in handle break; traces of a sl,ip which appears to have been laid thicker on the tops of the handles.
On either handle, an impression from the same(?) large circular die with boukranion in centre.
On handle b, the impression preserves the circumference only to the right of the boukranion and here the letters are confused by slipping of the die. Not determined if the two impressions are actually from the same die.
