Description: | Head of a snake-like or lizard-like monster. Preserved are left side and lower jaw, top and right damaged. The eye is set very deep with groove around it, probably for some paste to set it off. At the top of the head, there are four drill holes, probably for attachments of some sort. Light clay with dark inclusions. Covered with splotchy brown glaze. Perhaps from the akroterion of South Stoa I (?). | |
