Title:   Horse and Rider Figurine

Description:   Rider and head mended to body. Lower legs and all of right hand leg of horses missing. Head of rider is broken off and only stumps of his arms remain. Traces of rider's hands remain grasping horse's neck.
Fragmentary.
Rider's legs rest on hind flank of horse in the manner of a jockey. Tail of horse hangs down the right hind leg. Ears at crest of horse's head; punched holes for nostrils and left eye.
Bands of black glaze decoration vertically down head neck and legs; horizontally around body. Wavy lines on chest and hind legs.
Buff clay.
Context:   From lowest layer of interior fill of Hieron southwest of Southwest Fountain House; next to proto-Hieron wall.
