Title:   Head of Matrona Figurine

Description:   Front part of head.
Broken at neck and back.
The face is full, with a double chin. The eyes are large, the nose straight, the mouth short with full lips. The hair is parted in the center and drawn down in waves over the ears. Front the top of the headdress-perhaps simply the hair piled high in a braid.
More careful work than in the larger examples of similar aspect. Mold made; hollow.
Red wash over the face, with large white daubs on the eyes; traces of black on the hair. Buff clay.
