Stratum:   40% large pebbles, a few small cobbles, some tiles
Description:   The soil color is dark brownish black. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is poorly sorted. It is coarse sand.
Notes:   When first exposed, deposit 28 looked like a settling basin for the water pipe revealed by 25, which crosses line of wall 27. After excavation, it is clear that this was a more compact patch of the same fill at 25, not a settling basin. 28 revealed more broken fragments of water pipe as well as the limits of the cut for the water pipe.
